Nicole couldn’t be more excited about the designer luggage already en route to her front door.  She was just as excited about the new luggage as she was about her upcoming trip.  As she wrapped up another productive day at the office, she reached for her laptop case and purse.  Nicole casually slid the shoulder strap over her leather jacket and reached for her keys.  Just as she was locking the door to her office, she noticed that the strap felt unusually thin and tense.  She sighed, reminding herself once again that she had to do something about that old worn out bag.

Every time I carry it, she thought, I feel it digging into my shoulder.  One of these days, I’m going to end up with a permanent indention in my skin!  What Nicole was about to find out is that she would no longer have a choice but to replace it.  Suddenly, the strap gave way.  Without a millisecond to spare, Nicole felt the abrupt weightlessness of the laptop and quickly grabbed the falling computer case.

That was close! she exclaimed aloud.  Fortunately, everyone else was out of the office, saving her from a potentially embarrassing moment.  The time had inevitably arrived and it was time to shop for a new laptop case.

Nicole, a busy young professional who also happens to be newly engaged, didn’t have time to search traditional retail stores for luggage.  For her, online shopping is ideal.  After all, where else can you shop comfortably in your pajamas before wandering off to bed?  And, where else can you compare prices with the click of a mouse, something that would take hours of going back and forth between stores at the mall?  Or ending up settling for something she didn’t like because she really did not have time to shop for that perfect laptop carrying case.

She found online stores that offered tons of different styles and colors of computer luggage.  She immediately fell in love with the messenger bags.  Most of them were nylon and had a fun, sporty look.  She even found a surprisingly large selection of pink laptop cases.  Nicole smiled as she clicked through them.  Maybe she could order one of these just for her wedding planning days.

“These are so cute, Nicole said to herself.  It would be fun to carry one of these around.  But, does it go with my luggage too?  Since Nicole and Matt invested in nice designer luggage sets only a couple of days before, she wanted to make sure her new laptop case had the same overall look.

As she continued browsing, the aluminum laptop cases caught her eye.  She was immediately intrigued by these sleek computer cases and loved the sharp, sophisticated look.  She could easily picture herself strolling into the office carrying one of these.  Still, before getting too excited, she wanted to weigh all her options.

It didn’t take long for the backpacks to catch her eye.  This style would definitely address her problem with carrying a heavy bag on one shoulder.  It would distribute the weight of her computer more easily and give her two free hands for moving the rest of her luggage.  Like the messenger bags, many of the laptop backpacks had a sporty look.  Still, many others had a more sophisticated appearance with neutral, solid colors.

The more she looked, the more Nicole realized her decision wasn’t getting any easier.  There were so many great computer cases she could hardly make up her mind!  Then, she eagerly moved her cursor to the rolling computer cases.  Of course, the idea of rolling her laptop around sounded far better than carrying it.  Plus, many of these laptop cases were detachable, which would make the transition from the airport to the office a breeze.  Nicole really liked the idea of using the same computer briefcase for the airport as well as everyday travel during her trip.

After a few handfuls of popcorn, Nicole finally arrived at her difficult decision.  She purchased a detachable rolling briefcase, and since it was made out of black leather, Nicole decided that her new briefcase would be durable enough to use everyday for work.  It was a tough choice because there were so many other options.  Nonetheless, she would be anxiously waiting for the new rolling briefcase to arrive at her doorstep.

She fell asleep thinking about Matt and how he would look handsome carrying one of those aluminum briefcases.

Well, she thought, it will make a terrific Christmas present.
